Ranch Rodeo Rules

Team sortingThere will be cows at far end of the arena marked with numbers. As the first horse approaches the line a number will be called. The time will start as the number is called. Cows will be sorted in order according to the first number called. For example: if #4 is called the team will start sorting cow marked #4 then move in order to 5-6-1-2-3. They will be sorted across the line and time will stop when the last cow crosses the line. There will be a 4 minute time limit.
If at any time a cow crosses the line out of order or if the sorted cows cross back across the line after being sorted your team will receive a no time resulting in 0 points for the round.

Wild Cow Catching There will be cows at far end of the arena marked with numbers. As the first horse approaches the line a number will be called. The time will start as the number is called. The cow with that number will then be sorted from the heard across the line. The cow can be roped once it is across the line. Once the cow is roped by 1 team member with a legal head catch then the cow will be wrestled to the ground and 3 feet tied. Time will stop when all hands are off the cow. There will be a 4 minute time limit.
Cow must remain tied for 6 seconds or until field judge gives the nod. No cows other than your numbered cow will cross the line until the designated cow has a legal head catch. Once the cow is properly roped the remaining cows can wander.
If any undesignated cows do cross the line prior to roping your cow you will receive a no time resulting in 0 points for the round. If you drag or jerk down your cow you will receive a no time resulting in 0 points for the round. If your Cow reenters the heard she may be resorted but must be back across the line to be roped.

Trailer Loading4 head of numbered cows will be on the far end of the arena. As the team approaches the line a number will be called. Time will start when the number is called. Cow will then be sorted out of the heard and driven across the line, roped and then loaded in the trailer. 3 contestants will then jump in the back of the truck and 1 contestant will be mounted to stop the clock. The gate on the trailer must be shut and latched with only the cow remaining inside. There will be a 4 minute time limit.
If any undesignated cows do cross the line prior to roping your cow you will receive a no time resulting in 0 points for the round. NO excessively rough handling of the cattle.

Big Loop Contest When you check in you will need to bring your rope to be measured. The loop will be an 18 foot loop, with the tape mark inside the hondo. Each team will be split into 2 teams (Your Pick). You will be allotted 3 loops per team. Each team will be given a 2 minute time limit for a total of 4 minutes. Two team members will be placed at the far end of the arena. A cow will be turned out at the other end. The time will start as the cow is turned out.
